Parenting is the best and most important job we will ever do. It is also the hardest, and comes with no instruction manual, no training course, and very often, a lack of sleep – the very thing we all need to function well! Everyone feels better after a good night’s sleep, and there are few things more debilitating than a lack of one. Of course there is no escaping the fact that the early days of parenting come with a degree of sleep deprivation, but should you really have to expect that you’ll never have a full night’s sleep again? The answer is no. I believe it is entirely possible to achieve good sleep for your child, improving both their and your wellbeing, and ability to function healthily and happily. What’s more, my experience as a parent and foster carer, and my knowledge as a Sleep Practitioner, can vouch for this. In my own experience I have found that having a strategy and plan for my children’s routine and sleep, has enabled me to feel in control, and to look after my own needs as well as my children’s, which has made a huge difference to my wellbeing. If you are thriving as a parent, then your children will thrive too, and this begins with good quality sleep. I am passionate about supporting and empowering you to improve your child’s sleep within your own unique situation. Whether you’re right at the beginning of the journey, and are keen to put things in place to start as you mean to go on, or whether you’re a little further along and finding that things with your child’s sleep are not where you’d like them to be, I’d love to support you.
